What’s a BHAG you ask?
Big Hairy Audacious Goal!

It’s an acronym that I learned at a summer internship that just kind of stuck with me. This is a list of all my fitness BHAGs! They’re certainly aspirational, and I hope that they are also attainable!

Running:
Run a half-marathon under 2:00 Goal Achieved – Lucky 7 Triple7k in Minneapolis, MN
Run a half-marathon with a sub 9:00min/mile pace – Goal Achieved – Indianapolis Mini-Marathon 2013
Run a marathon Goal Achieved – Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon 2012
Run a marathon with my sister
Qualify for Boston
Run a 50k
Run a 50 miler
Join a running club
Break 25 minutes in the 5k
Do a Color Run

Biking:
Bike the Katy Trail from Columbia, MO to St. Louis, MO
Do RAGBRAI
Complete a Century Ride

Swimming:
Do the swim from Alcatraz in San Francisco as part of the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon
Open water swim in all of the Great Lakes
Open water swim in all every ocean
I don’t really have many swimming goals… mainly because I’m not sure of what cool types of races are out there. Always looking for ideas though – so I’d love suggestions!

Triathlon:
Complete an Olympic distance triathlon
Do a team marathon or triathlon with my sister and aunt
Do a Half-Ironman
Oh heck – Do a Full Ironman!

Travel:
See all 50 states by the time I’m 25
See all 7 continents by the time I’m 30
Finally visit my friend Zahra in India
Climb a mountain in Colorado
Hike part of the Grand CanyonHike to Ooh Aah Point on the South Rim
Go to Pikes Fish Market in Seattle
Go on a cruise – anywhere … or even to nowhere
Ride in a hot air balloon

    • Hi Roger! It was an absolute delight meeting you Friday night! I wish we had gotten a picture together and can’t believe I didn’t think of it. I actually am thinking of saving my final state for Wisconsin and the Ironman!!
